So today we need to get from Koh Samui to Singapore, and amazingly we manage to get up at about 4:30am ready for our pickup. It didn’t get off to a great start as the driver thought we were going to Koh Samui airport, but after he made a quick call to our friend who forgot to pick us up from the airport we make it to the ferry port. I think somebody made a quick call to book our tickets as we were travelling there but that is fine, stuff happens and they sorted it in-time so all is good.
We had a bit of a wait at Nathon pier, something like 2 hours so had a bit of a kip on one of the benches. It was soon time to catch the ferry over to the mainland which wasn’t too rough, thankfully! Next we get a bus up to the airport which takes around an hour and gives us just enough time to check in and get to our gate. This trip can be booked in any of the travel agents in Koh Samui and is very well organised with the next leg of your journey pointed out to you as you get off the previous.
Sleeping in Singapore airport
When we land in Kuala Lumpur we have no onward transport to Singapore or nights accommodation! So after checking out our options again of plane, bus or train we decide to book a flight to Singapore, which doesn’t depart until 10.40pm so have about 7hrs to look round KL airport!! It takes around 1 hour to fly to Singapore so will arrive around 11.40pm, with this in mind we decided to save on a nights accommodation and see what we can manage to get away with in Singapore airport, surly we will find somewhere to get some rest and close our eyes for a few hours!!!
We arrive in Singapore airport on time which is typical as we could do with wasting a bit of time. Singapore airport looks amazing but I will got into that a little more later. Once we had a little look around we found a few places with people already sleeping and various benches and areas of the floor so decide to find a nice bit of carpet to bed down for a few hours.
