Today we decided to take a bus to Phuket town for 30b(60p) each and see what was there. When we got there the bus stopped just off the main road not really anywhere or in a centre, so looking at each other thinking is this is it? Are we really getting off here? A tuk tuk driver then comes up to the bus shouting Phuket town so we get off and he said he would take us around in the tuk tuk for free.
On getting in the tuk tuk he says he will take us to the butterfly house, big Buddha and then some shopping all for free! After telling him we just want to go shopping he takes us to a jewelry shop and two suit shops because it turns out the shops give him some payment for him bringing people to their shops, which is why he runs us around for free. So we go with it and he takes us to the shops, while we are going to the shops we get to look what is in Phuket town which is not much so we decide we don’t want to stay here and when he has done taking us to the shops we ask where we can get a bus to Patong. He then takes us to the bus stop where we can get the bus to Patong, it cost 25 b each and takes about 40 mins as they drive so slow!!
So Patong, not really much to say about it really other than its a big place and not really that nice! Just somewhere to go and get drunk if you’re on an 18-30 type holiday!! Also plenty of water sports along the beach! There was a new shopping centre which was quite nice but other than that, … Oh I did buy some Oakley sun glasses for £4….but turns out I was robbed even at this price as they kind of cracked within 2 days and melted in sea water:(
